Samara? - Girl Names - Nameberry

Tonight, while having supper with my parents and younger siblings, our table conversation somehow turned to baby names. I’m the only one in the family right now who could have a child (all three of my siblings are under 18 and my stepmom isn’t able to have kids anymore), so my sister asked me what I would name another little girl if I had one. I said that I thought [name]Samara[/name] was pretty and all I got was “That creepy chick from the [name]Ring[/name]?!”

If I did have a child and named her [name]Samara[/name], would that be everyone’s response to the name? I think its beautiful name, much prettier than [name]Samantha[/name]. Am I the only person who thinks this?
